PACHIA AMMOS BEACH
Stavros, which word meaning: “Cross” – always a perfect choice for those, who love the special sandy beaches, the shallow warm water.
Stavros pampers us with two unique beaches in the northwest of the Akrotiri Peninsula.
The two shores are just 200 meters apart, which separated by a rocky, stony part. Nevertheless, both have different unique features.
If we drive from Chania, after 15.9 km we reach the first beach: STAVROS – Pachia Ammos Beach – meaning: Thick Sand.
From the parking area: we can reach the shore by passing the restaurant

To the restaurant belong parasols and sunbeds, which can be rented.
The coast is sandy, but deceptive! The area in front of the restaurant is really sandy and the water is shallow along the coast. But despite its name, “Thick Sand,” there are smaller and larger rocks on the seabed.


WARNING:

– The wet rock is slippery!

Stavros ’main beach is too crowded, especially in high season, but this stretch of coast is quiet.
Not this part of coast recommended for families, with small children, but the Stavros Gold Coast Beach is ideal for families!
