KEDRODASOS BEACH

It is an almost untouched gem of nature: unique sand dunes, among which the cedar trees, they give shade. A bay protected by rocks, with crystal clear azure water.
As the magnificent sandy beach is less known, it is almost untouched: natural.
No hotels nearby, no beach bars, no service! – but there is a picturesque environment.

It is 73 km from Chania, 42 km from Kissamos and 2.7 km from the world-famous pink sand beach, from Elafonissi.
On the shore, there are also juniper trees among the sand dunes, not only cedar trees. The juniper trees, which are related to cedars: Juniperus oxycedrus. [/swpm_protected]

This beach is a white sand beach. The coastal rocks were polished smooth by the sea: during the long centuries.

According to some sources: the favorite beach for naturists.
Signs warn of naturist beach sections in Crete. There is no sign on the road to this beach, which is to confirm this claim.

As there are no facilities nearby, this is a secluded beach: this place is a pristine paradise on earth.
This may be the reason: why naturists are also keen to visit this stretch of coast.

The beach, which is mostly protected from the wind, is very long and can be divided into several parts.
The central part of the beach is a long stretch of white sandy beach: smaller, but some larger rocks protrude from the sand at both ends. In this part, it is possible, that there are indeed naturists as well.

APPROACH:

If we are with a rented car, then it should be noted that we have accepted in the contract: the insurance does not cover damage caused by driving in the field! [/swpm_protected]

The path leading to the beach is approx. 50 meters from the car park.

[swpm_protected format_protected_msg=”1″] It is not difficult to walk on the path to the shore. Stony, rocky, but the trail is clearly visible. The beach can be reached in 10-15 minutes.
It’s a fantastic experience, when we first experience the hot sand under our feet. The scent of the cedar and juniper trees makes the shore even more unique. The sea is mostly calm and peaceful. [/swpm_protected]

ATTENTION:

– the road from the parking lot to the shore, easy to walk but stony, therefore suitable footwear is recommended, to avoid accidents!
– the sand on the beach, is hot! – therefore the use of beach slippers is recommended
– the beach is south-facing, the sun shines strong almost all day: be sure to use sunscreen, to avoid sunburn
